Day 27 – Father

Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
    is God in his holy habitation.

Psalm 89:26
He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father,
    my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’

1 Corinthians 8:6
Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

PRAY

• Before Christ, it was hard to fathom You as our Father.
• Jesus gave skin to Your love, and now we know Your tender care for Your children.
• Oh, Lord, how we want to crawl up into Your lap and know the comfort of Your arms encircling us. We are afraid. We don’t understand what is happening, and we need Your comforting presence.
• Draw us into Your lap, whisper reminders of Your love, and help us to know You are near and You care for us even more than our earthly fathers can.
