Bold as a Lion: Christian Courage in an Age of Fear

We all experience fear in our lives at some level; from fretfulness, to anxiety, to full-blown cowardice. In this seminar, we will explore four kinds of fear: rational, irrational, natural, and supernatural. We will contrast the “fear of man” with the “fear of the Lord” and consider how the Gospel frees us from fears of death, disease, persecution, and rejection. We will also examine five Biblical models of courage: the disciple, prophet, philosopher, warrior, and martyr. Ultimately, our goal is to find lasting assurance in Jesus Christ, the quintessentially brave man in the Bible.
