Disability Ministry & the Whole Person

Mr. Jim Perry, Romanian Christian Enterprises, and panel

Disability ministry is often compartmentalized into either “spiritual” ministry that fails to address physical challenges and skill deficits or is a completely secular approach devoid of the Biblical principle that every life is created in God’s image and of equal value in his sight. We will discuss ways the Church can fulfill our responsibility to see and value those with disabilities and serve them more effectively. We’ll explore biblical principles that nurture spiritual and physical growth, allowing those with physical and/or cognitive disabilities to thrive. This seminar will also address issues related to housing, education, therapy, vocation, and discipleship within the disability community.

As we witness the challenge facing our brothers and sisters, how should we respond? We have a responsibility to be a voice for the voiceless, to care for the vulnerable, and to tell their stories of faith.

Through the lens of the persecuted church’s experience in China, this seminar will explore a theology of advocacy and will include practical ways that you and your churches can join an alliance of global advocates.
